PCTEL Shares Jump 47% on $140 Million Deal to be Bought by Amphenol

Shares of PCTEL jumped after the maker of antennae and other wireless equipment agreed to be bought by network-equipment supplier Amphenol for about $139.7 million.

The stock climbed 47% to $6.86 in the premarket session. Through Friday’s close, shares of PCTEL were more than 8% higher so far this year.

Amphenol has agreed to buy PCTEL for $7 a share in cash.

The deal capped a nearly yearlong strategic process overseen by PCTEL’s board, Chairman Jay Sinder said.
